I sometimes use ktorrent for downloading big files.
Recently i've been set to smallband a few times because of too much upload. Which didn't make sence because I had limited my ktorrent upload speed to 10k (and later to 1kb/s)
But today I noticed something strange which could explain it.
My ktorrent was set to 1kb and in ktorrent the total of my uploads was not higher then 1kbs. Even in the status bar it said 1kb/s Upload.
But on my karamba network monitoring toolbar it said my upload was 30kb.
When I quit ktorrent my upload rate dropped to 0kb.
Is ktorrent displaying wrong values or uploading in secret?
I looked around for a way to limit my upload speed and came upon ethtool but the examples don't explain how to configure it to do this. Only how to set duplex or network speed.
The other tools (like QDS) seemed rather cmmplicated and involved kernel patches, which are no option for me as I use SuSE.
Anybody any ideas?
