is there a way to test bonjour/zeroconf/mdns is blocked ?
Hi there !
I've a HP MFP 135w - w stands for wireless, no ethernet.
My ISP give me recently a new router for which I don't have full access.
The printer is working by IP (ipp://192.168.15.105) - no problem here, only with the scanner was not detected.
The hpsetup relies on bonjour/zeroconf/mdns to discovery the scanner on the network and I suspect that the ISP wireless router is blocking multicast packets from mdns from the wireless scanner.
On my computer I already disabled the firewall to not interfere with scanner detection, but no luck.
I would like to know if there is any test that I can run between 2 machines connected by the wireless router that can give me a hint of what is going on: The mdns and multicast is blocked or not ?
Of course, I could buy a "open" wireless router and test using it instead the ISP router, by I want to save some money, after all, it is just to test an hypothesis.
