iptables logging

Hi,

My question concerns iptables logging possibilities. Let's say we log all the packets that pass through our router:

iptables -A FORWARD -s 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 -d 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0 -j LOG --log-level info

Is it possible to log only the packet ip address but not all information about the particular packet?

I don't think so. But what is to prevent you from extracting that info. from the log file w/ awk?

How recently did you RTFM? --
Quote:
--ulog-cprange size
Number of bytes to be copied to userspace. A value of 0 always copies
the entire packet, regardless of its size. Default is 0.
but read all the info. @ "ULOG" (in the man page) before trying this.
