Internet sharing Debian howto

I have small home network with two computers
I am able to connect to internet if
my first machine which connected directly to the internet is running Windows
my second machine which is connected to the first machine via link (ethernet) cable. whether its running Debian or windows.

But if I run Debian on my first computer the second computer is cut of totally. (no sharing no internet)

I live and love linux I need help.
because I am drowned in virus.

i have found that on debian, it is easiest to use an application called firestarter to set up a firewall and internet share between two ( or more ) computers.

how are you connecting to the internet?
how are you sharing, static, dhcp ?

I am using a samsung gprs phone connected
through serial cable (com0) /dev/ttyS0
accessing internet through kppp

the computers are connected serialy the first to the internet and the second to the first via eth0

And have Static ip address set
192.168.0.1 and umask 255.255.255.0
192.168.0.2 and umask 255.255.255.0 respectively.
