i think i have fixed the problem with suse 9.1 messing up my hd bios info, so I am installing suse 9.1 pro right now, it is 43% of cd1 out of 5. so once its done i will let you know.
micxz( k, its fixed, your request, I just used it to make sure if I am looking at what you have suggested)
in suse 9.1 pro in order to activate a subnet on dhcp, I have to bind it to a device, suse 9.1 pro is a bit differents from other devices. just looking for a command or an entry in dhcpd.conf or somewhere else to bind eth1 to subnet 192.whatever. other wise I cannot start dhcp. Other linux os configure dhcp by using a device, suse 9.1 pro does it by using mac adress.
so how can I( that is what specifically suse asks)eth1 to subnet or subnet to eth.
Originally posted by micxz glad to hear it's fixed.
I meant not my internet gateway problem, I mean about my previous, post where I posted not what I was suppose to post, the the you e-mailed me that I should remove few things from my post. but for the internet gateway I am working on suse 9.1 it is a bit different. so I did not yet got the point of making it working. I will post again as soon as I will make it working.
There is a great document that will clear up any problems you are having by Heike Jurzik, called "Setting up a Gateway on Linux Access Portals", published by Linux Magazine right here: http://www.linux-magazine.com/issue/...k_Gateways.pdf
