in.telnetd: invalid option -- L

OK I've done a new (ish) install of SuSE 8.1.

I've installed a telnet server (in.telnetd) or somthing like that.

When i try to telnet into the machine i get the following error:
in.telnetd: invalid option -- L.

Any ideas?

Cheers

The "in." on the front of the server name indicates you are using tcpwrappers as security for telnetd.

The files are in /etc/xinetd.d/ directory.
Have a look at the file and see if there is a "-- L" in the lines server = line.

And, are you sure you want to use telnet?
ssh is a much better/secure solution.
