importing Kmail messages into Evolution

Has anyone found a way of importing KMail messages into Evolution? I tried last night, but Evolution just didn't even recognise KMail or the Mail directory. Digging into Evolution's directories, it seems the format is entirely different as well.

Any ideas for a workaround?

Cheers

Its a bit of a pain, but forward the messages back to yourself. Make sure Kmail is not running. You can then receive them into Evolution.

I went through this, and that was the fastest way I found.

I had thought of that - forwarding messages to myself. I have sveral hundred archived e-mails that will be an absolute pain to have to do this for - too bad I can't figure out how to batch process them.

I think I'll keep this for a last resort, and was hoping for another way - e.g. using an intermediary e-mail client such as ... sylpheed or thunderbird. Are either of these formats recognised by Evolution? It makes it a pain as well though if I ever wanted to go back to KMail from Evolution - I'll be forwarding all my e-mails to myself!! Ouch.
