Hello,
I'll describe my problem as clear as possible.
1. I've got a laptop, connected by Wifi to my home router - interface name: en0.
2. I've got a PC which I cannot connect by LAN cable to the router, nor by Wifi.
3. Currently, the PC is connected by LAN cable to the laptop, and seeks the internet from it (the laptop shares the internet that it gets from the home router to the PC) - interface name: bridge100 (on the laptop).
The problem:
The PC is disconnected from the home router's local network, meaning that every device that is connected directly to the router, cannot see the PC as a local network client.
This is because the laptop shares the internet by opening a new local network of his, with different IP range and somehow shares the internet from the home router.
My goal:
To connect the PC with the same current physical connection BUT as a home router's client and not the laptop's local network client.
The home router works with this IP configuration:
Routers IP: 10.0.1.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
The laptop's shared network works with this IP configuration:
Routers IP (the laptop IP): 192.168.2.1
Subnet mask: 255.255.0.0
I'm sure that ifconfig offers some functionality that solves this problem, I believe that when I set the interface bridge100 IP configuration to (for example):
Routers IP (the laptop IP): 10.0.1.20
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
And set the default getaway to 10.0.1.1 (to the home router), things should be working quite good.
If you've got a solution to my problem, I'll be glad to have it.
If you've got another suggestion that might solve it, I'm willing to hear it.
