ICS w/ Slackware and WinXP Machine

I have Slackware 10.1 running on my Abit AV8 + AMD Athlon 64 3200+ machine. Recompiled it with 2.6.10 and I think it detected my ethernet adapter (which is VIA Velocity)

I did:

/sbin/ifconfig -a

and one of the entries it sent back was:

eth0:
Link encap:Ethernet ............
BROADCAST MULTICAST (yada yada yada)

any other way to confirm it detcted it correctly

problem 2 is I need to get internet connection sharing set up. I set up my Windows Laptop to share its wireless signal with the system I'm setting up now (the AMD one) and ICS works if both computers use Windows. I need to do this under Slackware. The Windows machine needs to give the Slackware one an Internet Connection. How can I do this. I am an uber at networking under Linux, it was bad enough setting up a Microsoft MN-520 under Slackware on another laptop.

Bump: My Windows laptop is already set up to share it's wireless internet connection with any machine connected to it via ethernet. How do I set up my Slackware desktop to connect to it?

Internet Connection Sharing under Windows works like this. First, your Windows machine must have an address of x.x.x.1, but sharing a 'wireless connection' will not work with linux machines well. It is best if both machines connect through the internet using the ethernet port. Second, the linux box must find the Domain Name Server (DNS). With internet connection sharing, it is always the machine with the address of x.x.x.1. So, here are the internet protocol numbers you need to get internet connection sharing with windows and linux:

ip address for windows
192.168.0.1
subnet mask
255.255.255.0
default gateway or Doman Name Server (DNS)
192.168.0.1

ip address for linux
ip address for windows
192.168.0.2
subnet mask
255.255.255.0
default gateway or Doman Name Server (DNS)
192.168.0.1

The linux box sees the windows box as the gateway. Don't forget to include some routing calls on the linux box. Good luck with that.
