Question HP CD-Writer Plus 8100 series

Hi everyone

Need some help on a CD writer. I have Red Hat Linux 7.2 Server and I want my HP CDwriter plus to work on it. I have a regular CD rom and the CD Writer. Now I did some Research on the web and the 8100 is compatible and i downloaded the Xcdroast and the cdrtools packages. I would like to know how to set this up. Do I need the software from Hewlett Packard for this to work. If so how do I install it.

I appreciate any information on this
