Question how to trace ipv6 address


Hi all,
I am trying to trace an IPv6 address without any success using online websites to trace and also tried to do it from my centos7 box got this error
--Cannot handle "host" cmdline arg `IPv6 address' on position 1
any idea what is happeneing ??

What is the command you used for your trace?

traceroute6 'ip address'. Even some websites for iptrace could not trace it.

Can you ping the address? Could be the ip address is no longer on line.
Would help if you supplied the ip address.

ok but at-least I get to know who is the provider but can't find any information.

In routing path, some node or IP address could be non-traceable. It is a protection.

Network devices can be setup not to respond to trace/ping requests.
