Unhappy How to network 3 PC's on Suse Linux 9.0

I have three PC's linked via ethernet and an ADSl router under Suse Linux 9.

All machines can get on the net, but cannot see the shared drive in my PC used for archiving.

Any bright ideas very welcom?

Sounds like you need to check out Network File System, or NFS. That's assuming that all the boxes are running linux. You need to elaborate on your setup and your problem.

Hi Bulliver, I have two boxes running Suse Linux 9.0 and went through the standard setup from the CD's.

It recognises the network cards (3COM 3C905B) in each machine. We can also get on the net with both machines, but cannot see the other's PC.

I have a partition on my machine that is shared with the others, that we use for common archived files. The trouble is unless we are both in Windows we cannot use it.

I must admit that I am not familiar with setting up a LAN in Linux.

As Bulliver said, you should be checking out nfs.

Don't know what it is? Click on the help icon in suse and type in nfs. Let it build a database if it needs to. It then gives you articles that explain nfs and even tell you where the config is located if your paying attention to the article titles.

Unhappy Linux Network

Thanks Caeder, I have taken a look at the help file and it does explain some things..... :-)

I will try to sort it out from there.
