how to monitor a router traffic?


is it possible to see the router traffic using a remote system? can those packet headers b modified for marking purpose?

Yes. And spell out your words, please.

Router traffic monitoring tools are abundant, and a quick Google search turns up lots. Packet shaping tools are also abundant.

Since you don't provide any actual details (version/distro of Linux? brand/model of router you want to monitor? What you're trying to do?), Google is your best bet.

packet marking

as i am beginer to forums and asking questions im abrupt. fine i do have debian systems and CISCO 3800 router.. i want to put some information to the packet headers nothing but marking the packets. is this possible?

Yes. Again, there are lots of packet shaping/injection tools available, as well as lots of monitoring options.

click modular router

i have found a s/w named click-1.6. this has been used in my base paper.. can any one help me instalin and workin wit it?
