Run nmap -sP 192.168.1.0/24 replacing 192.168.1.0 with the address of your LAN and /24 with the netmask of your LAN if not 255.255.255.0

use ping to know who is in ur lan

#ping -b network-address

for example
#ping -b 172.24.0.0

and it will show all ip on connected on ur network.
(remember u have to on ip broadcasting first)
