How to configure Debian to use as a firewall

Hi,
I need some help to configure Debian so that I can use it as a firewall.
I meaną I have it installed on a VM, with two NICs. Now I need some help to configure it in a way that all the traffic passes trough debian.

Both of the NICS are bridged and getting an IP from the router by DHCP.
Should I modify one of the NICs to not get an IP, and then configure the host system (Win7) default gateway to that NIC?

Thank you for the hand
