Windows uses the smb protocol for file sharing so consequently Linux has to implement this protocol in order to view the contents of a Windows filesystem.
This would be where the Samba project comes in (
www.samba.org). You might already have the smb client for Mandriva installed by default or you will need to install it.
Once installed you mount smb filesystems like mounting any kinds of drives. Suggest you look at the samba webstie and google for smb mount as well for details of how you set this up.
