How do I configure tftp on fedora core 4

I can not get tftp to work on fedora core 4. I keep getting transfer time out messages when sending file s to another tftp workstation.
I have good communications to the workstaion that I am trying to send files to. I have also open a hole in the firewall using the GUI interface and Placing the following on the firewall TAB "tftp:udp"
I need to get this appication working so I can backup config files on my routers and switches I use at work. where is the documentation that can help me with this configuration. I want to switch to linux as my every day desktop, but I am finding that configuration can be very difficult. Can someone please help a new linux user.
