host information in a LAN

hello every body ,
in our our college we are using gigabit lan and have created vlan .subnet mask of our hastels is 255.255.255.192
and we have cisco 2960 layer2 switch in our hostels .
my question is that can we determine the specific host in that subnet with the help of switch .
if yes how can we do this .

all you'll get from a 2960 is the arp entries on each port and the arp / ip table for the management vlan on those devices which have communicated with the switch at layer 3. the switch is not meant to be useful to you in this way.
