Question HELP how to route IP alias to VM?

Hi There,

I have been struggling to get this to work for the past few days so any help would be appreciated.

Basically I have a dedicated server on which I am running Plesk with all related services i.e. mail/web/etc. This runs on the IP 87.x.x.1

On this machine I have a VMWare Server VM which runs FC4 and Zimbra (also mail/web, etc).

What I want to do is somehow route and IP the hosts have provided me with 87.x.x.2 which is currently setup as an alias (eth0:0) directly through to my Virtual Machine.

From my understanding of what others have said bridging to eth0 and explicitly setting the 87.x.x.2 on the VM will not work as the hosts have some kind of MAC filter.

My server only has one NIC and can't be upgraded..

I would appreciate any help!

With thanks

David
