Half way there with SAMBA to WINDOWS

Ok, with all the help here, and after a little while of fussing around with the mount commad, I have gotten my linux machine to see my windows shared folder. Now, another question which I have searched on the Internet and the books I have with me here. Automatically mounting a windows share when the linux machine boots up? Is this file password encrypted, because when executing the mount command, I need to input a windows user name and password. How is this command protected? Thanks!

depends which method you've used. if you've put your windoze reg hack in, tehn it'll be plain text sent across the network, or if in your smb.conf you've got

encrypt password = yes

or whatever, then it'll be encrypted in the smae way windows does.
