Angry Frozen Desktop

Here are the parameters: HP Pavillion ZE4610 Laptop with openSUSE 10.
I am using a D-Link DWL-G630 wireless pcmcia card.

Problem: After boot up, both lights blinking on the card, I can see the access point, sometimes it even connects. The problem comes in when the card loses connection, my desktop completely freezes! Gnome or KDE, doesn't matter... Nothing works; mouse, keyboeard, nothing.. I have to manually turn the laptop off.

Has anyone come across this issue before? If so, is there any solution? Help is needed, I have tried many things to no avail.

Is anything written to logs just before the system locks? You should still be able to read back through them after rebooting based on their timestamp? I'm assuming you don't have any NFS or Samba shares mounted across your wireless card or logging across a network...?

I haven't looked at the logs after reboot. What is the best method for viewing those logs?

No, no shares, no samba, no login across the network.

Just simply when the card loses connection, everything freezes.

OK, looking through /var/log/messages, the only fouled up thing I can see is the ACPI!
But why would this be affected by a dropped internet signal? Maybe this is altogether another seperate issue that I need help with and understanding.
