Fedora 14 tftp server behaving badly.

Ok, so this is driving me nuts. I have Fedora 14 (in virtualbox) running a tftp server. When I try to connect to it via tftp I get a "Transfer timed out." error but after I exit the tftp program the file is listed in the directory as a 0 size. It's as if it sees a file by whatever name is available but never gets the udp stream.

Can't seem to find anything with google so far. The similar threads found someone that said the default directory was still being used so I tried putting a file in /var/lib/tftpboot and got the same results.

Let's look at some config and log stuff, because I know I'm missing something here. tftpconf.txt is my /etc/xinetd.d/tftp file, dirlist.txt is the /tftpboot/pxeboot file listing, and tftplog.txt is from a 'cat messages | grep tftp' command. (yes, you can see how I'm a little dazed and confused by the messages log so don't look to far back :P)

I won't be back into the office until Monday morning so maybe the weekend will help clear my head, here's hopping.

This is supposed to be the pxeboot server for our network boot environment and it's not serving up file like it should. The dhcp server is running on a monowall system with the proper ip and filename configured.

I hope that's it, and thanks for any help.

Ip and or port issue either related to vm and or the firewalls.

Can you connect via some other means? telnet ssh or ftp or such?

Finally tracked this issue down. The pxelinux.0 file had been corrupted and was showing as zero bytes. Replacing it got everything sorted.

Thanks jefro.
