Question eth0 is not working in RHEL5

Hi,

I have installed RHEL-5 (2.6.18-53) on my Desktop (ASUS Motherboard with Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controler 8168). After installation eth0 is not detecting. I downloaded R8168 drivers from Relatek site, but I am unable to install as it's throwing the following error.

Could be worth updating pci.ids before installing a 3rd party driver, might help RHEL detect which driver to use :-

on a working computer ( or operating system on the same box)
go to the redhat site and use YOUR paid for tech support
the license gets you not just the SECURITY updates but support also RHEL is not free
http://www.redhat.com/support/

if you never intend to PAY for rhel5 then do not use it
install CentOS 5.5 -- it is the community supported version

you might need the ndiswrapper to use microsoft dll's that is on the RHN

also there will be an error in the system logs
the logs are located in /var/log
the boot.log , massages , NetworkManager
to read most of the logs you will need to be logged in ( in the terminal) as root

posting the error would help

Thanks to All for your reply....

I solved the issue by installing driver(Download RealTek RTL8168 Driver v.8.008.00)and now I am able to make eth0 up and working fine.

The following link helped me a lot...
