dyndns configure

Hi.

I have a question.

I am using redhat 8.0 on my TP600.
I use netgear RP614 router.

My linux system is working perfect with its network.

I, however, have a problem with my www server.

I am using dyndns.org as my dyndns service since netgear router has its NAT function.

As I use apache as my http server software, it works fine and when I use http://www.websitepulse.com to check my site (even each page), it shows that my site is in function.

I, however, cannot see my page!!!!
Even when I check the site from outside of my network.

How come http://www.websitepulse.com tells that my site is working and it is recognizing the correct path, yet it is not appearing on browser???

When I type server machine's address (192.168.0.3) internally from the client computer, I can open the site. It means that apache is working!

What is my issue??

Is it some setting with my router? or network config?

BTW, I updated the software for my netgear router.

two things you want to check (that i can think of)
First make sure your apache server is configured to use the NIC card connected to your router.

Second, make sure you have a virtual server mapped to the ip address of your linux machine on port 80.

I just setup a domain with dyndns also and i am able to connect to my apache server, i didn't have to make any changes to the default install. I did have to create the virtual server link on my SpeedStream router for port 80 to my linux box.

Another thing to check is try pinging your dyndns domain and see if it resolves the correct ip address.

Also if you enable the firewall that comes with redhat make sure it doesn't block port 80.

As for websitepulse.com, i haven't used it before so i'm not sure what it really does.

Hope some of this helped

Another thing to check...make sure your ISP isn't blocking your port 80 itself.

If that was the case, you'd be able to see your site normally from anywhere in your LAN, but not from outside.

I have this exact same problem. As far as I understand it (warning: I'm a newbie at this) it's the NAT in your router that stops you from seeing your website when you try to access it with the dyndns address.

Since websitepulse can see your site apache is working correctly. As to how to fix the problem, that I can't help you with, sorry
