Dual Ethernet nic only connecting to 1 network at a time

Im not sure if this scenario will require Ethernet Bonding or not but here it goes

I have 1 Fedora 12 workstation with dual Ethernet. both ports of Cat5 are being used by two separate networks on separate subnets. I have both networks plugged in but an only access one network at a time.

I have both cards setup to obtain IP's from their respective DHCP servers which is fine but then i lose one link.

Ethernet bonding from what i understand is making two or however many devices turned into one logical interface, i dont know if i need this or if there is a way to keep both networks on all the time.

Any info needed please ask, ive only been around linux for just over a year, its just this is the first time ive encountered this sort of problem.

Thanks in advance

A colleague of mine just got back to me and seems to have pointed me in the right direction, i need to setup a static route so that Eth0 stops trying to use eth2 as its default.

a static route will keep the two separate. i didnt know that
