drakvpn killed my network card

Mandrake 10 community release / KDE32.
Using drakvpn to try to setup a vpn (duh) it tried to download ipsec-tools from sunsite and failed.

Before I tried this, my network card was fine.
After it failed, I tried drakvpn again. It said it was already configured so I told it to disable that connection.
Now I cant even ping my router!
(PC is 192.168.0.2, router is 192.168.0.1)

Both the router and the network card are physically fine, seeing as I can reboot into winXP and write this

What happened and how do I fix it?

Or am I better off waiting for the official release of mandrake 10 and formatting/installing that.
Or should I go back to crappy old windows and its really easy to setup VPN software
