DNS Lookup takes a loooooooong time

Every time I connect to a site, it takes a long time (~ 10 secs) to finds the ip address, and then the connection is normal. Is there any setting I can adjust on my Ubuntu machine to make it go faster...

Look at /etc/resolv.conf and make sure you have no local ip addresses in there ... like 192.168.x.x

At least that would be my suggestion if you were using Debian and Firefox.
