dmesg and syslog full of network traffic

Does anyone know how to reduce the network logging in syslog? My console buffer is completely full of this recurring notice
Code:
Inbound IN=eth0 OUT= MAC=00:a0:cc:24:fb:17:00:0f:66:25:5b:eb:08:00 SRC=10.210.0.1 DST=192.168.147.5 LEN=56 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=254 ID=0 PROTO=ICMP TYPE=3 CODE=13 [SRC=192.168.147.5 DST=192.168.145.255 LEN=213 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=63 ID=0 DF PROTO=UDP SPT=631 DPT=631 LEN=193 ]
So currently I'm unable to view anything about startup because they're all jammed together with this garbage.

EDIT: sorry, I'm using Debian Etch with a 2.6.18 kernel.

You might try setting up ulogd for iptables logging. That way it will not clutter the kernel log buffer.

Are you using something like firestarter to manage your iptablesb(firewall)? If so, you can edit the configuration file located at /etc/firestarter and set the LOG_LEVEL=none. I think there's a post about this somewhere in LQ.

Thanks, I missed that one. After searching for "firestart LOG_LEVEL" it shows up and that thread even has the acceptable values (unlike the config file or docs which don't tell you about the logging levels...).

Solved!
