disable firewalls for vsftpd.

I have succesfully configuared the vsftpd(anonymous) service.I am in local area network.
My ftp server is very slow(when campared to other ftp servers) in copying files from server to client.I think it is may be due to some firewall enabled in my system. Please guide me how to diable firewalls to make my server faster. If it is not due to firewalls what else can I do to make it faster.
Thank you.

It's probably some other issue, since normally a firewall won't slow your file transfer.
But if you want to try stopping the firewall type:
/sbin/service iptables stop
