Dial-up Connection Failure

Hello

I was using RedHat6.0 which I had running nicely, untill I downloaded some files, to the Point I needed to upgrade. I have now installed RedHat7.1.

Unfortunately there was a bug in the upgrade and it would not procede so there fore I just wiped my hard disk and did a fresh install. I was smart enough to move my Chat script for my internet connection to my Win Drive, to bad i was not smart enough to grab the other config files.

So you can probally see were I am headed with this.
I went back to step one and used the resource i used to create the chat script (which worked great in 6.0) but in 7.1 I am having problems.

when i give the tail command to view the log file I can see there are 2 problems.

Prob 1:
chap is not authenticating. When I check my chap-secrets file it has my user name, secret and password. I think this may be closely related to the next problem..

Prob2:
The remote IP is not the one I have in my resolv.conf file and I do not know where it is getting this IP from. Also I don't think my hosts file is set up correctly. This is my hosts file
100.100.100.001<--- (Bogus IP) www.myisp.com

Is addressing there website correct? I have not any help from my ISP as in information on there server except for the IP's that I got a while ago.

my chat script looks like this:

pppd' /dev/modem 115200 /usr/bin/chat' "" ADT5550000 CONNECT "" noipdefault use USER@ISP.COM

remeber this worked in 6.0 is there anything I need to do to gfet it to work in 7.1?

Thanks for any help or insight. I will check with my ISP for the server name(s)
