Question DHCPREQUEST & DHCPACK in my log

Hi,

My log is full with this:

Code:
Aug 11 13:04:32 domain dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.100.199 from 00:1b:24:e3:7f:ea (pc) via eth1
Aug 11 13:04:32 domain dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.100.199 to 00:1b:24:e3:7f:ea (pc) via eth1
Is this so imported that it has to be in my log?
Or can I disable it for logging?

It is important if you are trying to debug DHCP operations. Since you are running a DHCP server, it is good information to have. You can redirect the messages to another log file if you want via syslog.conf.

Search for log-facility in man dhcpd.conf. Select a new facility to use (such as the example local7), place the correct sequence in dhcpd.conf. Then, configure syslog.conf to place local7 messages to a different log file. Then restart dhcpd and syslog.
