I've been researching online to try to solve my dhcp address problem... rtm and all that.
should I be putting my config in /etc/dchp.conf or in /etc/dhcpd.conf ?
from my (slightly incomplete) understanding I want to be configuring the dhcp deamon, which means dhcpd.conf ? However some documentation online refers to dhcp.conf instead, containing the stuff I've put in dhcpd.conf?
Am I wrong or doesnt it matter? Could this be why my leases appear in the wrong subnet ?
The system is RH 7.3, although will be changing to a more recent version when I set up DDNS.
My (limited) understanding is the that dhcp.conf would only be on the client machine and dhcpd.conf would be for server configuration. But I'm having problems, too, so don't be too surprised if this is incorrect because I won't be surprised either.
