Dhcp

How do I disable the DHCP client on my Linux machine? I'm running SuSE 9.1 at the moment and can't get it to stop using DHCP on bootup.

Thanks in advance.

Either make your IP static or disable the device in total via yast.

edit the file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ethx and add a line or edit 'BOOTPROTO=static' and 'IPADDR=x.x.x.x'.save the file and restart network service .bye ....vimal
