d-link dwl-520

Still a newbie here and I'm looking at purchasing another wireless pci card. I saw one of finigans post that he recommended the d-link dwl-520 card. I decided to research this a little bit, because last time I bought a linksys wmp11 card they just happened to change the chipset to broadcom and now it's not compatible with redhat. Anyways will I be all right if I buy a couple of these dwl-520 cards? One is going into a redhat 8.0 machine and the other is either going into a debian or mandrake box. I also have a linksys wet11 wireless ethernet bridge, will this card work with this? I have done a little research and some sites say the card will work with linux and some sites say it won't, so I called D-link support and they say it won't, but on their site it says it does. Can anyone help me? I'm really confused here!!!

mobo pci compliance issues

Hydrocracker,

I cant help you with OS specific issues on this card yet because I dont have one BUT I did think it important to point this out:
http://support.dlink.com/faq/view.as...estion=DWL-520

It seems that this product will NOT work with motherboards that are not at least compliant to the PCI2.2 specification.

It may be worth checking out your mobo before making the purchase.
