Creating Subnets in DNS?


in a network that consists of hundreds of workstations, and we needs secured groups within the enterprise LAN. can i create a VLANs in a DNS server/console (w2k3) to manage security groups?. if yes; And how do i accomplish this?

You're asking this in the wrong place. But for what it's worth, I don't think you can do what you're asking.

your answer is yes.
Its actually pretty simple.
windows doesn't make a bit of difference.
Vlans are created in your router
to select which vlan a computer will be on, you need to know what port it is on the switch, then just dump it in that vlan

i re-read your post, to do it that way, you need a list of ALL the mac-address in ur network... (headache waiting to happen)
