Cooperative Linux, Networking, Gentoo. noobish question

There are so many different howtos to get going with coLinux networking. I've tried 5, none of which work for me.

Here's what's up:
I'm wirelessly connected to a router, which has the address 192.168.1.1
My assigned IP is always (usually) 192.168.1.4.

I'm using the "Gentoo-colinux-stage3-x86-2004.3" image, I've successfully booted with it.

When I right click colinux-daemon.exe and check the version, it's 1.1.0.0.

I would really like to get networking to work, since I plan to connect via XDMCP with X-Win32.

Please help with detail. If anyone would be willing to do this with me over AIM/Yahoo/MSN or Skype, I'd appreciate that alot.

so what is exactly the problem?

if the linux isn't networked, then it might be because the network isn't setup (as in it doesn't know about it) ... seeing how you say your ip on the router is "usually" something, then it stands to reason using dhcp in the linux would setup the network .... since its gentoo, use "dhcpcd" .. or was it "dhcpc" ? ... one of those I'm sure

And I'm sure you've been following the Gentoo docs, eh

That doesn't work either.

I have a wireless connection, which uses WinPcap doesn't it ?
It's said in documents on colinux.org that it doesn't work with wireless.

I have tried it (of coarse), when I do it, my wireless connection simply disconnects.

Wireless is important since this will be on a laptop as well.
