Connecting to the Net

I have DSL and I use a static IP address. I am running Debian. How can I configure my Linux computer to connect to the internet? I have not been able to find any setting in KPPP dialer to adjust, and I do not know how to configure my network card to my internet settings. Thanks!

Are you using an ethernet router or something else?

Assuming you have the linux machine connected to the router and it has dhcp enabled you should just need to run "dhclient" as root.

Ok, I found the dhclient script file. How can I run the script?

Open up a terminal "su -" to become root then type "dhclient"
