Connect to server in windows network from debian desktop
Hi all,
I trying connect to another computer in local network.
In windows I usually do it by typing "\\server" to path field and ENTER.
Network is open for windows and Mac too.
Any advise how get there from debian?
You can try Dolphin or Konqeror, there are other applications that support the smb protocol. In Konq, you prefix the servername with smb://groupname/servername.
Dolphin is a little more graphical. There is a Network icon on the left side. Click it, and more icons will show up on the right. One is Samba Shares, click it. The workgroup(s) will show up, pick the one you want and the machine.
For any of this to work, you need samba client installed on the client.
