Configuring ident for psyBNC connection with x-chat

Ok i've looked throught the various ident questions asked, none of them have really helped me. I have no problem setting up x-chat to connect to my psyBNC, but psyBNC uses your ident as authorization into it. And so this is the problem, my ident has the ' ~ ' at the front, therefore causing in proper authorization. I've been trying to get identd to work, i know how to turn it on but i dont know where to configure it. i've also tried oidentd, i got as far as installing it, and then i got stuck with what i should do next

Any help on this matter i would appreciate, Thanks Hardw1re.

Itd help if you name that distro.

identd should be part of inet.d or xinet.d and listed as a service in your service configuration files.

xinetd.conf
identd.conf (? does it exist ?)
