Extract the samba-version.tar.gz, change to the samba-version/source directory. From there run:
Code:
./configure
make
su
make install
You can run ./configure --help to see what options are available for configuring samba. You can also take a look at samba-version/docs/htmldocs/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/install.html for other details.

Regards

Thanks for steps.

One more doubt please.. If I have Fedora Core 1 installation CD disks, is samba-version.tar.gz included in those CD disks. OR if source is included in the Fedora Core CD Disks, can I make samba-version.tar.gz using that source.. If yes, could you please tell me how?

I know Fedora Core 1 installation disks consists of Samba.rpm. But I need to know the way how to make an samba rpm package using samba-version.tar.gz and how to make samba-version.tar.gz using the source code.

Regards.

Fedora is an RPM based distro, so any package included in the installation CDs is in .rpm type. Perhaps there is a source rpm (they have the extension .src.rpm or something). You can install them using your distro's package manager or from command-line with: rpm -iVh package.rpm.
If you d/l samba-version.tar.gz this is the source code and you can install it as I told you. There are utilities to tranform from tar.gz to rpm and viceversa but never used one.
You might take a look here
