choosing hardware for linux based network

I would like to design a network based on Fedora 4.
I want to use Cisco router 800 series and switch 500 series.
But I am afraid that these router and switch are not compatible with linux.
I tried to read their data sheet but I couldn't find anything related to my question.

If you know any other router or switch which you think is better for small offices, I would be glad to know them.

Thanks

Why wouldn't they be compatible? They are standalone units, and will work with any OS that speaks TCP/IP...

Because I have worked only with FC3 and FC4 and windows I decided to make my network under FC4(I hate using windows for my netowrk) But I am not sure whether it is the best idea. Has ever anyone had a network under FC4?
