CentOS 5.3 failed to run hamachi

Hello,

Yesterday, I installed hamachi under ubuntu 9 and it worked fine. Today, I tried to install and run hamachi under centos vps (openvz). Everytime i start hamachi it says:

Quote:
10 14:22:44.445 [ 0] [21543] tap: bad response from tuncfg - 0200000d
10 14:22:44.446 [ 0] [21543] open('/dev/net/tun') failed with 13 (Permission denied)
Here is the permission of /dev/net/tun:
Quote:
crwxrw-rw- 1 root root 10, 200 May 21 18:50 /dev/net/tun
Is there anybody encountered the problem like mine before? I followed this instruction but it does not work with my centos vps.

Thanks,

Are you starting Hamachi as root?

To be honest, though, I would recommend OpenVPN instead of Hamachi. Hamachi depends on a mediator server to make a connection and as such is open to failure if this server is not available. It also relies on the 5.x.y.z network being unroutable, which, today it is, but tomorrow (however unlikely) that may change.
I am always loath to hang any business on a service that may change or disappear.

OpenVPN is not difficult to set up... not as straightforward as Hamachi, I'll grant you, but not that bad, once you are clear with your requirements.

Yes I started it with root. Well, I will try OpenVPN though I have never use it before. Thank you for your respond.
