Cannot resolve name

Hi all,
I have recently installed RH9 on my Compaq Computer,
The computer connected to the router (by the network card = which was fully recognized by the Linux)
The router is connected to the internet.
Now I have a problem:
The first time I have connected to the internet using Mozila browser I have managed to connect, then after 10 min approximately I received an error which was something like: "cannot resolve/find the name" on yahoo site. I checked to see that the network card was activated and it was, so I have added the DNS ip - I thought it is something related to the resolving names which is probably managed by my router. It worked for 10 min but when I have rebooted and logged as a different user (with similar configurations - I have checked) and it stopped to work att all.
Now it isn't working for the first user too.
(My router assigns ips to other computers in the network which have windows OSs)

I will really appriciate any help here,
Thanks a lot,
Uri.

Heh, I had that problem, I had to add a line to my /etc/rc.d/rc.local to bypass the router's DNS and hop straight to SBC's. I added this to my startup script:
Quote:
echo nameserver 151.164.1.8 > /etc/resolv.conf
Do a DNS lookup with ping/nslookup and see if it gives you a weird IP address (though I think you mentioned it didn't give any IP address at all). My router kept resolving to 0.0.0.10 in Linux before I bypassed it.
By the way, I found the DNS server in my router's Network Status page, it varies between routers where it's located.

Good luck!
