Question Can i allocate bandwidth through Squid ???


Hi Everyone ,

I am using redhat 9 and running squid in

that. Is is possible to allocate bandwidth through

squid like for divding my bandwidth into 64 kpbs

For example

i have squid as the proxy server i have 1 mb.

bandwidth for some of the computers i want only to

allocate 64 kpbs not more than that ,So can i do that

in the squid


Helping this issue will be greatly apprecited

You can do this, but you must install squid from source to enable the DELAY_POOLS feature, since it's not enabled by default in most distros. You can take a look at this tutorial to see how you can achieve this. Also take a look at these examples.

somtein more complex and more powefull is to use tc patch for squid for no squid hit penalty

is more complex but u will have outstanding performance !
