Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

OK, so I'm still a noob even though I've been working on linux and haven't rebooted into my windows partition.
So I'm asking for help.
Here are the details of my setup:
-Mandrake 9.1 and XP dual boot.
-60 Gig HDD
-512 MB DDR
-One integrated NIC, 2 PCI NICs.
-All 3 NICs connected to a Linksys router/hub.
-Brother's machine running Windows, also connected to the same router/hub.
-Browse/execute folder/files shared on his machine.
-Use the HP 670C printer attached to his machine which he's sharing.
-Do something with the 2 PCI NIC's which aren't being used. I see little or no activity in gkrellm for eth1 and eth2.
In LinNeighborhood, I can see my brother's workgroup but it doesn't show any shared files or folders.
I've read a lot of post and tried a lot of stuff but nothing seems to get the printer going and for the 2 NICs...well most of the stuff goes right over my head. I'm the pure defination of an end user.
