Can't Add Ipv6 to interface

I found the following issue when I was trying to NTPD to listen on only specifics ports.

NTPD wasn't attaching to my wlan1 in ipv6 mode. So I decided to try ping6ing the addresses of the wlan1 interface (Global and link), never got a reply. Though when I try to ping the ipv4 address I get a reply. Also noticed that the other interfaces when I assigned them a ipv6 global address they also made themselves link local address but with wlan1 I had to specifiy a global address also.

any idea why an interface wouldn't be accept a ipv6 address correctly?

Okay it seems to be an issue with the wifi card i'm guessing because I tried adding it to the other wifi card I have install and it too doesn't seem to like it.

Figured it out, not used to working with IPv6, Ive only worked with IPv4. Apparently when using IPv6 in order for the device to respond to a request it must be in a connected state. I.e. wired devices must have a cable pluged into the NIC and into sometoher device router, hub. Wireless NIC need to be connected or set to AP-Mode. Wheres as IPv4 the device will respond irreguardless of the connection state of the NIC or WNIC.

Thanks for the respone
