Can't access hda1 from windows

Hi im new here

Anyway

I just installed Damn Small linux (dsl) And I wanted to make a ftp server I used betaftpd as my ftp program.

The problem is I can acces all files except My hard drive hda1
Even as a superuser i can't access it from my windows machine

I get acces denied,

So i can make user and start ftp server I use wincommander to get on my linux machine, I can log in and access everything except the harddrive I mounted from my linux machine. I think it might have to do with rights, even when i get on it as superuser i can't access it.

I'm still a noob in linux but I at least came this far

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thx in advance..

Tuin

I don't really understand what your setup is here. I'm guessing that you want to use hda1 as a filesystem to contain your FTP files?

What type of filesystem is on hda1?

Which of the above software are you running from Windows, and which from Linux?

Which FTP server are you using, as is it configured to use hda1?

And I'm using betaftpd on linux

I can access all file on my server except hda1 which i mounted on my linux server I'm getting access denied whenever i try to get on it

Make sure that hda1 is marked with the user option in /etc/fstab. If not, then unmount it, add the option and mount it again.

Without that option, regular users (such as the user betaftpd is running as) will not be able to browse it. See the fstab manpage for more information.

This could also be a configuration problem with betaftpd; I've never used it myself so I can't really help you there, except to say to check the documentation about user access.

Add an fstab entry.
/dev/hda1 /mnt/your_mount_point ntfs user,umask=222 0 0
