best performance NIC for Linux

Hi there. I know that linux has a plentiful of supported NIC databases and our network is consists of 3 main servers with 4 NIC on each of them. We installed 3 VIA rhine NICs and 1 Realtek 8139. So far, all of them work fine without any major problem although sometimes i can see some error on syslog citing something like "too much interrupt ..." logs.

I would like to know whether we should upgrade to better cards such as 3Com or etc. I didnt put myselft much into these NIC research on linux. So, for those who experienced before..please guide or any other comments are welcomed too. thanks and cheers
