re: best nic card for redhat 8.0

I have just installed Redhat 8.0, and I too have the Netgear FA311, by installing the network card via the Network Configuration, and selecting the Nat Semi DP83815 the Netgear FA311 functions fine.

If you want a nic that's sure to work with linux, get one with a Realtek 8139 chip. They're cheap too!

I like the Intel EtherExpress series of cards, they never develop errors and seem to be a nice sold bit of hardware. Having said that, most network cards Ive used are nice and solid (my server runs the tulip module for its NIC and it runs fine)

Yep, the Realtec 8139's work with just about any Linux or windows machine and can be gotten on the internet for about 5 or 6 $.
