Backtrack Linux


Hi all,

I have BT5 on my flash drive. i have PC with windows OS and it connected with network, also internet connection. When i load the backtrack Linux using pen drive,automatically not taken windows IP.in other way when i set the ip on backtrack its connected the network but not connected internet. could please explain why and what i do for internet connection on BT.

Not sure, maybe you need to run dhclient to get an IP address from your BT internet connection.

Backtrack is a specialized distro for experts in network security and penetration testing. I am sorry to say that, but if you neither are able to manually set up the network connection nor are able to do a web search for the basics of setting up the network on Linux then I doubt that Backtrack is the right distribution for you.
Try some simple distributions, like Mint, Mepis or PCLinuxOS.
